Today, believers follow Jesus just the way they want to. They mostly trust in grace, so they don\u2019t consider it important to produce good fruits. Most of the teachings in the churches are about how to be blessed, how to get more from God. But less about what we should give God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does Jesus want us to do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a very important question. Because those who truly love God are interested in God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This day the LORD your God commands you to do these statutes and rules. You shall therefore be careful to do them with all your heart and with all your soul. You have declared today that the LORD is your God, and that you will walk in his ways, and keep his statutes and his commandments and his rules, and will obey his voice.”<\/p>Deuteronomy 26:16-17<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Our relationship with God is similar to marriage. We want to please our spouse. This is exactly how our relationship with God should be. But what does God like? We have already read Deuteronomy 26<\/a>. If we really want to please God, let us follow His command. Because in His commandments He tells us what He does not like and what He likes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many Christians despise the law, saying it is obsolete, not to be dealt with. Yet it is the law that makes us know what God wants from us. The law could be called otherwise: The will of God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus also walked in the commandments of Heavenly Father, so He was kind to Him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”<\/p>John 8:29<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

How do we live our Christian lives?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jesus left an accurate example of how we live our faithful lives. Most believers are aware that we must follow Jesus. But most of them are no longer aware of how to follow Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t just have to be gracious, just as Jesus was gracious. But we must also be self-sacrificing as Jesus set aside his needs and served others. What best characterizes Jesus for being kind to God is that He was sinless<\/strong>. That is why we must also refrain from sin and do good, as Jesus did. The apostle John also said that Jesus should be followed as Jesus followed the Father:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”<\/p>1John 2:4-6<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Conclusion:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are not believers because we consider ourselves to be so. We are believers in doing what God asks of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
