It is indeed baffling how He willingly left His glory above to sacrifice His life for people full of sin. And pride, and bent on foolishness, people who were completely right in their own eyes. More so, even when they unrepentantly hurt one another and the One who made them. His love looked past all of that and heard our soulful cry for help.

Christ made a way for reconciliation by dying sins He didn’t commit.
Jesus came to earth filled with words of warning and caution, grace and comfort. In addition, He healed the sick, delivered the oppressed; provided for the needy and even raised the dead, because He was full of compassion. This ministry of heart-deep love and compassion is what He expects us to carry on with.

Heart, Mind, and Soul

Whenever a favour is extended to us, the first normal instinct is to reciprocate, to give back. This is exactly what our response to God’s love for us. However, when we consider the horrible pit of sin and suffering He pulled us out from. And the glorious way He placed our feet on, and the glorious heaven He’s taking us to; the gratitude that rushes into our hearts ought to create a love for Him that is complete- with all our heart, mind, and soul.

Indeed, loving is the evidence that we have truly encountered Christ. We accept His love by believing on Him and maintaining righteous lives here on earth. Overall, when we love God, we will study His word and obey Him promptly, fully, and eagerly. Even when His command seems impossible to carry out, our love for Him will push us to pray for strength and grace from Him to obey.

Your Neighbour as Yourself

The core of Christ’s command of love for others is based on our humanity. He knows our tendency for comfort. And self-preservation; so His command is to love others as we do ourselves. Whatever we wouldn’t subject ourselves or four loved ones to should never cross our minds to do to other people. Lastly he underlying motive for every single one of our words, thoughts and actions should be His Love.

Additionally, to become more like Jesus, we must put ourselves in His shoes. And act the way He would act to everyone we come across, believer and unbeliever alike. We are called to draw sinners to the Saviour by preaching the gospel to them, not just with words but with physical actions of genuine concern and help.

True love isn’t erratic or selfish. It doesn’t burn today and quench the next. True love is patient and kind, forgiving and enduring. Love isn’t afraid of sacrifice. It is ready to let go of or accept anything, whatever the cost. Also, isn’t afraid of inconvenience, pain, loss, or persecution. It doesn’t doubt, compete, or discriminate.

Furthermore, this complete Christ-like love should be our foremost aspiration and prayer point. It should be the burning motivation for everything we do. Lastly, we must take a cue from Jesus and be like Jesus Only then can we truly be like Him.

Also Read: Mustard seed faith

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering; and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.-(Ephesians 5:2) The love of Jesus is beyond comprehension.
