Bible Teaching is a Gift from God
Bible teaching is a gift from God that not everyone receives. I have met many times with Christians who have wrongly taught the word of God. Usually this is because they do not read the Bible, they only teach what they have heard from others. But this is very dangerous because it is easy to deceive a new Christian.
Bible Teaching
Many think they know God and try to teach the Word of God by their hearts. Hence the false teachings that God promised wealth to His followers or total health. But God never promised such a thing, but only promised clothing and food to His followers, but also made it conditional:
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:30-34
Tribulation
Why do they still teach the gospel of wealth or health? Because they are still thinking fleshly, they want to live happily in this earthly life. It’s like not believing in salvation. Yet Jesus did not promise a carefree life, but tribulation.
„I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.””
John 16:33
A true believer has tribulation in this world because he does not live according to the values of this world. A true believer is hurt by the many evils that are found in this world. That is why we long for a better home where everyone can live according to God’s law. But we must enter the kingdom of God. If we are unjust, we should not even hope for salvation.
„If favor is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he deals corruptly and does not see the majesty of the LORD.”
Isaiah 26:10
Grace
God’s grace forgives our sins. But it is also conditional because we must repent and forsake sin. If we are serious about following God, show it not only in words but in deeds.
„And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,”
Isaiah 29:13
God doesn’t owe us anything, we didn’t lend to Him, we didn’t help Him out. But there is what He asks of us, and that is obedience. For He did not force us, but gave us free will to follow Him voluntarily.
