Prayer is a powerful tool which connects both Heaven and Earth.  The power of prayer and blessings of it should never be underestimated as prayer can change any person and circumstances and makes impossible to possible through prayer. Scriptures from James 5:16-18 says “…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” Elijah a man of God prayed earnestly to God that it would not rain and God answered his prayer by stopping the rain for nearly three and half years.

Prayers are invisible but we can see visible actions of the prayer on the situation through prayer. We serve a God who not only hears our prayers but also will answer our prayers at the right time. He is a prayer-answering God. Sometimes it looks like God never hears our prayers, and he is not responding immediately. When it is time on God’s clock, He will never delay one second and brings in all the blessings and things which we asked through His name. God, in His ultimate and unfailing love, desires nothing less than our absolute best.

Scriptures from 1 John 5 14-15 says “And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.” God answers our prayers if it is align with his will. Jesus taught the disciples regarding the Lord’s prayer and one line says “Let you will be done as it is in heaven and in earth” Your prayer becomes so powerful so that God answers it when it is according to his mighty will. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God’s will, God responds powerfully!

Prayer is the way God has guided his people throughout history. Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and throughout the New Testament continues the tradition of prayer found in the Old Testament of the Bible, exemplified by the Patriarchs of Israel such as Abraham, Moses, and David. 

Prayer nourishes the soul when you are in communion with God and brings you peace in your heart. Prayer yields us several blessings

Closer to God:

A blessing of prayer is that it takes one closer to God. More you are closer to God in his presence the more you will be avoid sin, the more you avoid sin, the more you become the Christ alike. This is a pattern which God expects with his people.

Enhances the Faith

Prayer enhances the Faith, Scripture says it is impossible to please God without Faith.” Scripture says it is impossible to please God without faith. When we read through the Bible it clearly shows God delivered and healed people when they had their faith laid over the Almighty.

Safeguards:

Prayers acts as shield and a protection. A shield which satan fears to touch. Prayers can safeguard from all the spiritual warfare which the ruler of this earth throw against us. Power of prayers can defeat all the Goliaths in our life and secure victory over the powers of earth.

Jesus has taught us how to prayer in Matthew 6:5-13. It is important to follow the directions of Jesus while praying to receive the blessings and protections which God has kept for us.
