Building a Godly Relationship For Singles

Some ministers years ago agreed that the word relationship summarizes the entire bible. They unanimously agreed that the bible can be summarized as relationship with God and relationship between fellow humans. If the entire bible can be summarized using one word, then it’s worth giving a second thought and look. Christian youths accept the bible’s authority on many issues but struggle when it comes to morality and lifestyle choice. God’s standard has not changes as He seeks and wants the best for His children despite the promiscuity and perversion in this generation.

You will remain the same person in the next five years except for the books you read and the friends you keep. This implies that your association or relationship is so strong that it can change your life forever. No man can live in isolation hence, relationships are inevitable. It is important to remember that there are more ungodly associations than godly ones in this perverse generation. Note that God is interested in the type of relationship you keep because your body is His temple and He’s interested in what goes on there.

“Be not deceived; evil communications corrupt good manners”. 1 Cor 15:33

“And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, save yourselves from this untoward generation”. Acts 2:40

A godly relationship is the one that glorifies God and one where God is at the centre. If you’re in a relationship that you are hoping will lead to a happy marriage, it is worth asking yourself, ‘does this relationship glorify God?’ Only those who live by God’s design for marriage will have good relationships that will end up in a glorious marriage. God has given the special principles of good marriages to us in His Word. Whenever the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Your creator is the one who has the manual for optimal fulfillment and best working conditions for your life. Let God lead you into the right relationship. Commit your ways into the hands of God and He will establish your plans. Avoid heartbreaks, emotional torture, future troubles and losses by committing to the one who knows the end from the beginning. It is a common practice today to see young girls and boys start a marital relationship with ignorant expression of hoping to end it in marriage. There is time for everything.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”. Eccl 3:1

God has defined the roles of both genders in His word. Love is key in any relationship. It helps to overlook faults, makes each partner willing to make necessary sacrifice and bonds the soul of the parties involved together regardless of age difference, nativity, status or physical attributes. Avoid expensive jokes; it can make a shipwreck of any good relationship. Physical, financial or academic challenges should be handles with maturity. Don’t joke with holy things remember you will give account of whatever you say.

“But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account in the Day of Judgment”. Matthew 12:36

No matter how hard or tough it seems or sounds, speak the truth all the times in your relationship, remember there is nothing new under the heaven.
