New Year is Dawning
Everything that has beginning surely has an end, the year 2021 has gone and another chapter has opened for new year 2022. It is of necessity for us to reflect and make plans to forge ahead in our journeys with Him. Starting the year with Jesus should be paramount to us.
but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
John 20:31, John 1:16
There is life in His name to those who will believe in it. Life as in SALVATION. Being saved from the sting and power of sin comes as a result of our union with Christ.
She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21
This new dawn should be a dawn of a new life void of sinning but living uprightly, no one says it is going to be easy but it is definitely possible for He has empowered us with His grace to say no to a life of sin.
In this new year:
- Let His love ravish your soul
We really need to set our gaze on Him so we can receive more life from Him, life here means “zoe” God’s kind of life. He made us to be like Him but we fall short as a result of sin. Jesus came to restore us hence connecting us back to Him so we can live the original life He made for us. Christ Jesus’ good news brings us encouragement and consolation in a unique way. Let His love ravish your soul.
- Jesus is more than enough
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”15 And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. 16 For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?
Exodus 33:14-16
Just as Moses asked for the Lord’s presence for the journey they were about to embark on. In the same vein calling Jesus to journey with us and not only that but to be the director of the journey will make the journeys fruitful. What do we need that Jesus cannot provide? Is it protection? He has it in abundance or consolation in times of hurt? Jesus is more than enough.
See Jesus as all sufficiency, no matter how difficult the journey might be. To say there won’t be challenges because we have Jesus is to be deceiving ourselves. Because Jesus Himself left the apostles with a mixed feeling but with a guaranteed future.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
He is the only way
This new year is promising as in every year. But God’s desire is that we enjoy Him better than the previous years. We are to be changed from glory to glory and grow to the measure of stature of the fullness of Christ. Not by our power but by the spirit of the Lord.
Take time to be with the Father, He wants more devotion to Him, less of excuses. This year is dark and only He has the light to show us where to go. Where do you put your hope for the journey? All other grounds are sinking sands, stand on Christ the solid rock. He is the only way and none can satisfy like Him.
Jesus Christ has promised never to leave or forsake us (Heb. 13:5). We are to receive from the fullness of His grace, shine His light and bring heaven closer to those around us that they may know How truly good God is.
Happy New Year, Father wants your love.
