Prayer

I like to refer to prayer as the gateway to God’s presence. It’s the point of contact with God for all blessings. Prayer can be made silently or loudly, fervently or agonizingly. It all depends on how you want to present your petitions to God.

More so, prayer is an extremely potent spiritual weapon. It’s no wonder it always brings divine intervention into situations. In Genesis 4:26, the bible says, “And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

The Benefits of prayer

Prayer is one of the greatest privileges that we have as believers. It keeps us fired up spiritually. In other words, it keeps us spiritually hot. And just as nothing can cling to a hot object – sin, affliction, darkness, setback, etc can’t have a foothold in your life if you’re a prayer addict. Unarguably, prayer is the only invincible weapon the devil and his cohorts fear since creation. And it remains a fact that it can insulate our lives, career, health, ministry, etc. Prayer strengthens us in weakness, it brings provisions in times of need. Healing for sicknesses, salvation to the lost and illumination into dark situations. If you haven’t been praying like you should, then you may not fully understand how effectively prayer can fix situations that are beyond control.

The Effectiveness of Prayer

In order to experience the joy and power of prayer as a Christian, you need to learn how to pray. And how do you learn how to pray How? You simply learn to pray by praying. However, it’s not just about praying but praying according to God’s word that’s quick and powerful. Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” In other words, to be able to pray effectively, your understanding word’s God must be profound. Hence, I urge you to start taking the frequent study of word’s God and prayers more seriously. And don’t stop until your prayers produce the desired results.

Here’s the truth we need to know, prayer is highly detested by the devil. Consequently, he does everything within his means to frustrate and hinder us from praying. Satan had over the years stood against prayer taking place or being effectual. Daniel 10:12 buttresses this, “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.”

Conclusively, when you wonder why you haven’t received an answer to some of your prayers – know this, the devil and his territorial spirits are behind this, in most cases. Even Apostle Paul wasn’t spared as seen in 1 Thesalonians 2:18. It says, Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.” Nevertheless, I encourage you to pray without ceasing (1 Thesalonians 5:17)
