Resurrection of Jesus

The resurrection of Jesus is the central theme of the Christina faith. The resurrection of Jesus was divine plan of God which witnesses power of God Himself. To believe in the resurrection power is to believe in God and His sovereignty. Resurrection of Jesus was not an easy process. Jesus had to go through immense pain in the cross, facing all shame, and suffering to take away the sins of the world. All the sins of the world was laid on to Him in the cross so that everyone in this world be broken away from the chains of the sins and be in eternity forever. The picture doesn’t end there in the cross. Jesus was laid down in the tomb for three days and Jesus resurrected breaking all the chains of death and hell.

Many raise the up the question why resurrection of Jesus is so important for every believer. The resurrection of Jesus is vital because it gives tremendous hope, comfort, peace and an assurance that there is a life after the death. Through the death and resurrection we have got a hope that death in this world is never an end, its an new beginning that we will be with the Lord of the Lord forever. This is the confidence we gain from the resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus kept the talk of the crucification and about His resurrection with His disciples often but they never took it so seriously. We can read the four Gospels speaks about the resurrection of Jesus and the empty tomb. The opponents of Jesus inadvertently acknowledge that the tomb was empty when they claim that the disciples stole Jesus’ body (Matt. 28:11–15). This claim seeks to explain why the tomb was empty rather than denying that it was actually empty.

Jesus resurrection from the death gives us immense hope that our future is safe and secure in the hands of the Lord. Without his resurrection it is impossible to think about eternity, or salvation from sin. Jesus said in John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life” and this statement clearly stays that He is the author and finisher. Jesus does more than give life; He is life, and that’s why death has no power over Him. Jesus confers His life on those who trust in Him, so that we can share His triumph over death (1 John 5:11–12).
