The Obedience of Faith

Parents expect trust from their children. Especially when the child is young, it is not possible for the child to understand everything what we are asking for. And when children are older, they expect us to explain our requests to them. However, parents do not always like this, as they expect trust and obedience from their children. If this is important between the parent and the child, how much more between God and His creatures?

What should we do?

If we truly (in deeds) love God, we can know Him. We do not change immediately at repentance, but through knowing God. Repentance is just the beginning of the journey, you have to go through it, you have to go through the door.

Endurance

The Heroes of Faith, whose lives we can read in the Tanach, became heroes because they stood in the commandments of God, endured in faith throughout their lives, and believed unwaveringly in the promises of God what they did not see them fulfilled.

Without limits

Elijah is a great example of how close we can be to God. He was just a man, just as we are. There is no limit to the knowledge of God, God is holy, and only those who live as holy can be close to Him.

One-Man Army

It is really easier to stay in faith if everything is fine with us and around us. But it is a state of comfort that does not require much faith from us. What we see with our eyes does not require faith, but when God hides Himself from us, it really shows how much faith we have in Him.

Consuming Fire

Why did God appear on the mountain? To give His law to the people! And why did He appear in a fire? Because what comes from this world cannot survive the fire of God. Because there is nothing in this world that can survive in the presence of God! Therefore, we either obey His word and may have fellowship with God, or we disobey, but then His fire consumes us.

Dangerous Emotions

The key to our relationship with God is obedience. This is how we can get closer to Him, not through our emotions. Yet many choose the emotional path, so there is more praise in the place of obedience, and more prayer in the place of deeds. There is confusion in Christianity because they try to understand God through emotions.

Unbelieving Believers

You must live in God’s will, walk in God’s pleasure! Those who really do so will be truly persecuted as their actions stand out from the crowd. So there are many who only practice their appearance of godliness but deny its power!
