Light Has Come

Darkness is generally known as the absence of light, where light is darkness cannot exist. Darkness and light have their interpretations in the scripture the former for the bad and the latter for the good. After the creation of heaven and earth, we have no clear vision of what has been happening then we read is “darkness is on the face of the deep”

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:2

We can see here as the initial stage of humankind when we were born, only Adam and his wife was able to experience the light at birth. Every mankind was born a sinner, which is our nature we didn’t choose to be like that we were without choice. Because God cannot lie He would not destroy Adam but rather leave him to experience the result of His disobedience and hence darkness begin to reign on earth since the fall of man.Man began to procreate, giving birth to their in the same nature.

When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth

Genesis 5:3

The man that was made in God’s image has lost his God’s likeness and taken upon himself the fallen nature prone to the attack of the enemy, the darkness has taken over! But God didn’t leave man alone without providing a way out of his doom.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Genesis 1:3

God is love! This He demonstrated when He commanded it to shine. He wants to see His creations proclaiming His glory, so He offered to us the second chance.

In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 1:4

In Jesus

In Jesus lies the solution to our darkness. God didn’t initiate the darkness because we read in 1John.

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

1John 1:5

This is His nature and only light can proceed from Him, no unrighteousness in Him.
Life is filled with many hurdles which are most times difficult for mankind to explain. We wonder why this and that is befalling us or our loved ones. We sometimes find it hard to discern if this is God inflicting us or the devil. The good news is that God is light, if we can meditate on this alone we will see clearly that our failures are not in any way from God.

He loved us the way he loved Adam in the garden satisfying him with everything he needs for life. Life in the garden was very sweet just as life in God in this world ought to be as well.

Look to the Light

It has come and it is Jesus. He is shining so bright that darkness has no place to hide neither can they overcome the brightness. No wonder Isaiah says

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.

Isaiah 9:2

They have seen the light. It is commonly said seeing is believing but in this kind of situation seeing with the right eyes (spiritual eye) is what will bring about the believing because many have seen the works of Jesus. But they are yet to believe that He is the savior of the world. The light of Jesus lightens our darkness so we can see who we really are and no longer be a subject to the dominion of darkness and its offspring.
Have you seen the light? Has it shone on you? The light is nearer to you than you think and it is Jesus.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12
